Dear Members,

I would like to share with you below a resolution released by our City and signed by our Mayor Sylvester Turner, proclaiming April 23, 2016 as Turkish Heritage and Children’s Day. As we get ready to celebrate our National Sovereignty and Children’s Day today and tomorrow, Houston is also getting ready to celebrate this meaningful occasion throughout the weekend with various festivities. The inspiration lies in the vision of a leader who gifted this landmark event in our history to the world children almost a century ago. We commemorate Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and the founders of our nation on this important occasion, and we look forward to celebrating with you with increasing joy and pride, every year, each year.
